Celebrate with a free family bilingual program featuring award-winning author-illustrator Lulu Delacre. Delight in  irresistible music by Los Hijo'e Plena, the performance ensemble of Cultura Plenera, a Maryland Traditions award-winner. Together they will bring to life “Fiery Bomba,” a story in the children's book, Rafi and Rosi Music! Every neighborhood family will receive a complimentary copy of the book in either Spanish or English. A reception will follow with book sales by Politics and Prose Bookstore at Sitar Arts Center, a creative youth arts space that provides multidisciplinary arts education to children in Washington, DC.

Delacre believes in the power of representation. Her books have won the Pura Belpré Honor Award, the Orbis Pictus Honor Award, and have been on the New York Time Bestseller List. Born in Puerto Rico, she’s been a Maryland resident for 30 years.

Rafi and Rosi Music! / Rafi y Rosi ¡Música! are the fourth in the popular dual language series of Rafi and Rosi Coquí published by Children’s Book Press, an imprint of Lee & Low Books. Kids will want to sing and dance with the fun-loving tree frog siblings as they explore Puerto Rican bomba, plena, and salsa.
